Mentioned in the News

Check it out! I was mentioned in the Richmond Times Dispatch “People and Places!” In the very last paragraph there is a list of all of the new employees for SnagAJob.com. That is pretty funny stuff. Luckily, I couldn’t find my picture anywhere. There are enough bad pictures of me out on the inter-tubes.

Charlottesville Snowpocalypse 2010

The snow has finally died down and I’ll have to say — it wasn’t as bad as they said it was going to be. This time around the snow was much more the wet-slushie variety than last weekend. This means that it was a lot heavier to shovel, but it made better snowballs.  I tried sledding down the hill in front of the Jefferson Ridge Apartment complex again, but was unsuccessful again.  Snow depth definitely plays a part in whether or not sledding is possible. The fact I was using an old cookie sheet may also have something to do with my lack of success.

The snow plows are out right now. I’m happy to say I can see some pavement so I may make it back to Richmond tomorrow night after all. However, the more likely scenario is that I catch the Super Bowl over at Emilio or Jacob’s place.  I’m also thrilled that I saw Madison today. She is doing well despite the snow.

I also got a hand digging out my car by my neighbor, Matt. He’s a 3rd grade teacher and calls Madison “Sammy”. He has a shovel, which is something I’ve neglected to invest in.  Who knew Charlottesville, VA would get so much snow in the span of a few months?

The Adventures of Flat Stanley

Check this out — my nephew sent me a “Flat Stanley”. I have to take him on adventures and take pictures of him — kinda like the Gnome in Amelie!  Apparently his class has been reading the Flat Stanley series of books.

So far, the only things I have planned are skiing @ Wintergreen and going to work.  I am moving to Richmond this Sunday, so that could be somewhat exciting. Maybe I’ll take him on a whirlwind tour of Charlottesville followed by a few civil war battlefields.

This project really reminds me of the gnome in Amelie.

Flat Stanley from Vinson

Was Hoping to be Productive Today But …

I took my cardboard and paper out to the McIntire Road Recycling Center, but I’ve also spent about 2 hours playing Farmville.
