Ikea
I think what I’m thinking right now can be summed up by the following picture (with a bad photoshop job by yours truly).

Well anyway, let’s just say the past few weekends I’ve been spending too much time at the Ikea. The rough breakdown is as follows.
- Try to buy bookcase (Markor, in case you have the slightest interest) at the Woodbridge, VA, Ikea. It’s out of stock.
- Buy the bookcase at the College Park, MD Ikea. Feel accomplished.
- Discover the bookcase has 2 left sides.
- Bring one bookcase side to the Ikea one week later for exchange. It gets exchanged for…the same side.
- Drive all the way back from College Park, MD to Herndon, VA and discover that the bookcase still has 2 left sides.
- Whine, bitch, moan, etc.
- Get back in car and drive back to College Park (3rd trip in two weekends).
- Get the right (correct) side for the bookcase. Feel somewhat accomplished yet still frustrated.
- Drive all the way back from College Park, MD to Herndon, VA and discover that the bookcase has … two different sides?
It turned out that the each side had drill holes that were drilled in the same position in the bookcase, but at different widths. So on one side the holes were spaced farther apart than in its counterpart.
As Joe would say, Whisky Tango Foxtrot. I would say W T F.
The conclusion: return and refund and no shopping at Ikea … YARGH.
