Charlottesville City Market Find: A Flower Girl Basket

I really love the Charlottesville City Market. On Saturdays between April and October you can find a slew of local vendors in a parking lot next to the Downtown Mall. Among my personal favorites are Babes in the Woods (pork from heritage breed pigs that live in the forest), Inedible Jewelry (polymer clay jewelry shaped [...]

Since I don’t feel creative enough at the moment to write a detailed and perhaps slightly nagging blog post about charitable giving, I’m going to copy + paste the form letter that the I Do Foundation created for me (below). Dear Friends and Family, Our wedding is approaching, and we look forward to celebrating it [...]

Wedding Rings – Symbolic and Sustainable!

A few days ago I got a package in the mail from greenKarat, the jewelers who created wedding bands for Aaron and I. Although greenKarat has a lot of cool and funky options for wedding bands, we decided to go clean and simple. I am a pretty big fan of my engagement ring so I [...]

Sooo. Looks like the weekend starting Friday, November 5th is going to be pretty popular one in Charlottesville. I was calling to reserve a block of rooms at hotels close to the Clifton Inn for Friday / Saturday night and it is turning out to be more of a hassle than I anticipated. The Hilton [...]

An Ode to Etsy

Before wedding planning took up a lot of my free time on weekends, I spent a fair amount of time trolling the internet. I was introduced to Etsy about two years ago by my friend Aimee. I recieved Lego earrings as a Christmas present. When I asked her where she got them, she replied, “Etsy“.
Carbon Neutral is Apparently Hilarious To Some

I got a lot of laughs today at work when I mentioned that one of my top goals for my wedding was to have a “carbon neutral or even a carbon negative footprint.” This came after some discussion in which some co-workers of mine were teasing me about spending too much money. Although I think [...]
